Hi guys'

I have taken the pony heads off and it looks like I need to rebore and get a new set of pistons,
Looking at the pistons In the pony, it has a part number of 2F-3664 stamped on it, can any tell me please if that part number is for standard pistons, or is that number for oversize?

I am not sure if Cat gave oversize pistons a different part number or ?

Edit, sorry I forgot to mention the pony motor is from my D4 6U 300

Cheers Simon

The 2F3664 is a semi-finished piston so who knows what it,s bored to so you,ll have to mike the bore to see what it is.Th std. bore is 2.751" (2 3/4"). Cat has the std. piston as 2F3665 and the .020" over as 8H2762 and the .040" over as 8H2763.If you have to you can always bore and sleeve the block like any other engine as we did dozens of them at the dealer shop when necessary.

Thanks for the help SJ, Much appreciated,

So i would suspect the pony has had a rebore in it's life then, if they are unfinished pistons,
I will buy a inside mic and see what the measurements are

Just weighing up the options I have
