We have a number of stations around here that sell the 92 octane fuel for classics, motorcycles, and off road and farm vehicles. If you do not use the machine much it does not crap up the carbs like the oxygenated stuff they make us use. I know of a couple of collectors that use aviation fuel in there seldom used machines. They claim its a lot cheaper than working on carbs all the time as it seems to last a long time.
I add a lead substitute and octane booster to the 87 unleaded gas in my pony engines. Knock on wood but in over 15 years I have never had any carb or valve problems.
That being said I have to change the little inline filter on the 112 tomorrow as it is nearly plugged from crap in the tank. It usually lasts 2 or three years between filters. It sure keeps the junk out of the pony.
