So, after a long winters nap, I'm firing up the D6. Pony motor not getting gas. Took off compartment where float located. Found the rubber or neoprene on top of needle valve half gone and loose pieces plugging opening. Cleaned out and put back together. Pony fired up 2d pull, but would only run with full choke and slightly above idle speed, but was enough to crank main motor for a run.
Where can one of those little rubber tips?

With out buying a carb kit, you might find a generic
Float needle that will fit, or be modified to fit with the float in the correct height.

the more I think about it, where the needle valve above the float basically let's gas in, I cleared that out, so then, the motor only ran with full choke tells me some of those particles from the rubber off top of needle valve is clogging up downstream. Time to take carb off and really clean more. Otherwise if float needle valve doesn't seal, it should tend to flood.

are you sure the needle valve is working and letting gas in the carb? Perhaps the debris was from the tank or gas line?

I have an inline filter on line going to carb. No problem with gas getting to carb fitting. I'll have to check for gas in float bowl. The rubber on top of needle valve was falling apart when I opened it up. thanks for idea.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
