My Cat #12 has had a 24-volt starter installed somewhere along the line (since 193😎. The pony motor is still on the engine but never used.

Would it be wise to remove it? Is it worth anything?

Thanks

The Mag, the carb, the pinion assy are all marketable parts. The freight on the engine would be prohibitive. Not that rare down here. There is 1 oil port and 1 water port on the block that need to be plugged after removal. PS that is a nice looking grader you have there. I have a 1941 that is going to be a parts tractor. My 1949 just seized a rod bearing but the 41 pony is the same block.
Does the pony have a electric start? The starter assembly is nice to have if you have a rope start.

Leave the pony in place. The next owner might appreciate cold starts with the pony and direct electric start when warm.
