I am putting together the pony on my D47U and have a question. The previously installed intake manifold gasket had silicone on it,is this a standard for these intake gaskets or is it necessary? Thanks for any advice,Don Alves.

If your installing a new gasket I don,t think you need anything on it if the surfaces are good on the manifold & block but if it,s a gasket used over again then a little sealer would be good.I have put lots of them starting engines together but always used a new gasket dry and never had any trouble with them leaking.
