I have a D4 dozer and 9T grader, I had the generators rebuilt and now would like to upgrade to electronic voltage regulator. Anyone done this before?? part numbers for parts and wiring diagrams would be appreciated!!

Yes, I made this upgrade to my 5U D2 a couple of years ago. I'm using the original 6v generator with a Optima 6v AGM battery and the regulator is a Clover Systems DR110, which bolts on to the same location as the original regulator and has the same connections. It works perfectly - the generator easily keeps the battery charged even though it only runs a couple of times per year.

looks like that website is closed. im looking for a 12 volt solid state electronic voltage regulator for the generators on these tractors. im tired of cleaning the points on them. anyone out there done this??

They were also offering 12v regulators
I put one on our AC D17 tractor after several junk aftermarket regulators. No problems and it works with no problems. Yo u have to specify the generator model and it's polarity. I switched the 17 to negative ground. The electronic regulator worked fine.
