Computers, websites, phones and the electronic devices along with the AI directed censorship all have their individual problems, and most are like our Caterpillar Starting Engines. NO ONE WAY TO MAKE THEM FRIENDLY AND COOPERATIVE. The various operating systems, site parameters, servers, internet providers, and requirements are at best difficult to navigate. As of this time, any observer will note: This new website is being very difficult to navigate and there are no help desks, no instructions, nothing to assist the user and many of us are not as computer literate as some others may be, me included! (I struggle with many aspects too) This SITE IS A STRUGGLE! TRIAL & ERROR is the NORM!

This club and the group of persons that strive to "keep 'em crawlin'" MUST appreciate the efforts of each other. Failure is not an option! All of us are seeing & experiencing the dissension and frustrations but PLEASE do not let this destroy the friendships and mutual enjoyment of the goal. Are we not bound together by the "yellow fever"? Has the Club (ACMOC) not weathered some very difficult times in the very recent past?

I sincerely hope these obstacles can be overcome without casulties. No one person can resolve the multitude of issues faced with the operations, nor can any one person do the work alone and certainly not without the support & understanding of YOU!

Well stated CTS. This site is a struggle, and is quite frustrating, and like you, I appreciate the efforts of everyone, particularly Deebo, to keep things afloat.

Hi, CTS.

Well spake, Sir. I am modestly able to 'figger' out summa the 'tricksa ther trade' but I'm no web wizard or programmer or security 'ex-spurt' and so a LOTTTTA things are also beyond me. I have been pretty quiet lately simply 'coz I am mostly connecting through a shared/public connection with little to no security. I do have a 'freebie' virtual private network and prefer to connect via a router rather than a modem when I can but this public network doesn't allow me that 'luxury'.

Maybe Neil or somebody else witha bitta knowledge on such matters would be kind enough to give those of us who are not as 'computer literate' as they are some tips on staying safe and maybe also on navigating this new site????????????????????????

That said, I think tolerance and patience are the main requirements while all of this is being sorted out. The recent adjustments to the functioning of the site are MOST welcome but I suspect that it will be a while before everybody is comfortable with the new system. So, let'z all just take a few deep breaths, report any issues that we encounter and give the 'boffins' time to sort them out.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

I too am a tad disillusioned with the new web site. Especially the non-working membership directory, which worked extremely well on the previous version. It now only works if you know the member's ACMOC name! I need to know who the members from Queensland, and it can't do that now.

Hi, cable control.

I'm from Qld, although I am currently down in Patagonia, WAY South of the border, attending a few vintage machinery shows in 'gum sucker' and 'crow eater' territory and getting a refresher course in why I like Qld. Heading back North mid June.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality

It seems like any improvements made were only temporary and the forum software has reverted to disfunction. Everyone is giving up on it.

Respectfully I think the problem is trying to combine the enterprise software with the forum software.

I realize it is a pain to migrate the huge database but something should be done. Weldingweb.com has just upgraded their site. Take a look.

83 that welding site is great! I did a little reading, looking and searching. The first try I was able to navigate. Some on here have a trick up their sleeve for most things but I do not I continue to wait like the rest, but it isn’t going to fix itself.
