Does anyone have picture of the 2S blade similar to the 2A blade shown here. I am in need of one.
Thanks Bob

Bob, do you want a scan of the parts picture or an actual photgraph of a 2S blade? If you need parts numbers, just ask... 👋

I am looking for the parts breakdown. I should be receiving my #44 hydraulics manual today but don't know if it will have this picture. If I see the breakdown, I may have further questions on my blade.
Thanks Bob

The blade on this D2 was bought from cat in the early 1970s the rest is home made. If you need more photos let me know what angles,we have had this D2 since 1960. It is a midget beside the D7F.

Pete--there appears to be a clip angle or something between the support and the hydraulic cyl. but it has no part #. is this used to secure the blade in an up position?

Yes, shows up in the cylinder parts breakdown.

From what I've seen they don't seem to line up all that well.

Dan, I use those brackets to keep the hydraulic cylinders secured when I have the blade off, usually in the field. I throw a bolt and nut through on each side and the cylinders stay up out of the way, look at about the 41 second mark in the video below.

Yea--they look pretty secured and not bouncing around---any advantage to pulling a disk without the blade on? Will the clips hold the blade up so it can be towed start? or will the rod move out and lower the blade when it bleeds down?

My understanding is the brackets are strictly for supporting disconnected cylinders. I wouldn't want to be putting blade loading (bending) on the cylinder rods at that point.

I don't know if they would be able to keep the blade up or not, they seem a bit light-duty to withstand the leverage the blade would have on them. I've only ever used them with the blade off. As far as removing the blade when pulling, sometimes leaving it on can be good counter weight to help keep the front down but in that situation having it off helped it turn smoother since the pull wasn't very much and the field was so small - lots of circles.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
