That was a great undertaking. . I was wondering how they transport it. I assume they have to break it in two, but that in itself must be a considerable project...
Permit load - special routing required. I doubt it would be at all practical to attempt splitting it.

Yes, permit load with blade attached. Peterson Cat posted photos on their Facebook page of its transport and delivery to Brooks by Rick Franklin Trucking.

That's a machine I would really like to see in the flesh some day.
Hi, Folks.
It'z good to see it out-n-about again. I got to see it at Santa Margarita in, I think, 2019.
I don't know about this one as it has a couple of features that the originals didn't - like an equaliser bar and oscillating tracks for one - but the originals were designed so that they COULD be split OR reassembled by relatively unskilled workers in a fairly short period of time. Buster Peterson was one VERY cluey man.
Thanks for the photos, Cat Spotter.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
Grabbed these from my files - I was fortunate to attend Best of the West - 2017 - ACMOC National Show if my memory is correct. There were some BIG MACHINES there, a Tandem D-9 and a 660 scraper from days gone.
Let's give some credit to the folks that made it happen: Glen Ghilotti, and Ed Akin RIP both of you fine gentlemen and Duane Doyle of Peterson Caterpillar, the last surviving owner of the "Siamese D-8". Unclear if the heirs of Glen and Ed still retain ownership, or if everything went to Peterson. I hope to see it again at the 2026 ACMOC National Show, hosted by the Antique Powerland Museum. A must see. JM
