instead of perfection some times we just have to accept practicality
Duals rule
Certain things make me think Eimco, but their big difference was the operator was right up front.
I helped pull an engine on one, never got operational so never drove it. But was just a dirt mover. No way for operator to survive in brush clearing work.
I have not seen an IH TD24 in a while, but do not these track frames look TD24.
Hi, naylorbros.
That was wunna my first thoughts when I saw this photo - TD24/25/30 - but some people who have hadda wander through the Wisconsin IH archives and through the literature collection of a pretty 'BADLY INFECTED' red paint fanatic couldn't find any 'dope' on it.
It might be a bit like the Rixmann-Knapp crawler having tracks like the English Vickers crawlers but not being anything to do with Vickers.

Could someone have stolen TD24 track frames when they built this thing. Complete track frames between your pictures and the little picture on this website https://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/003/3/2/3322-international-harvester-td-24.html
Hi, naylorbros.
It seems that they may have 'stolen' more than just the track frames:
The dash, especially the throttle control, looks fairly IH-ish and so do what appear to be steering controls toward the bottom right corner of this photo. All the photos that I have are courtesy of Dave Tallon. I don't know where he found them and I have never seen any other mention of it - and I tend to get into some 'back corners' of the internet.

I could see someone picking up a IH track frames from a dead IH. With the engine trouble you could create in a IH gas start diesel if not treated right. Undercarriage parts could of been sitting, just waiting. And the throttle is very much a copy of IH if not real IH parts.
What are the devices on the dash just to the left of the throttle. They look like they might unscrew with the u shaped handle and you could put the old ether capsules in, to ad starting. Anyone see enough engine to say it could be a Detroit Diesel powering it. Because IH gas start would be like a Cat pony start, warm it up until no ether is needed.
The Eimco I was around had Cat D8 track and roller, maybe idlers and sprockets too. I never checked it that close.
Hi, Ray54.
I have been told that those caps that you mentioned are in fact ether capsule insertion points. I wouldn't know 'coz I never ran anything that had them.
Some views of the engine - for better or for worse.
