I was wondering on the Lorain 820 did the swing and propel work on the same set of clutches and did this model have the lorain center drive type gear train like on the model 75? I was at Brownsville a few years ago and did not realy get to look at the 820. I hope to make it to the spring show. Also did Bay City use a chain drive or gear in there first reduction in what looks like a sealed case with oil? A Final question, did Northwest use a hi and lo gear set up in the lower works for the tracks?

The 820 Lorain travels on the crowd clutches. The crawlers drive with conventional sprockets and roller chains. Our 45 Bay City is gear driven from the engine clutch to the hoist and swing shafts. I can not answer your Northwest question. Lou
