Original sales logs ?

I am wondering if there is somewhere to go to track to whom and to where my D2 was originally shipped ?

I know the Mack museum has the original hand written ledgers of their truck sales. For example my Mack AB was sold to A.W. Hesson hardware in Elko nv and shipped in January of 1920 along with its sister and the next truck off the assembly Like was shipped to Norway

Is there a resource like this for caterpillar?

The dealer in N.Z. has logs from the beginning up through about the '40s and '50s. Just lists the serial # and the purchaser's name (individual or company)
