Had to turn it over![]()
Very cool. The guy I bought my 17A from told me the scraper it used to pull was still on the land where it came from (he didn't bother to mention this when I was there and could have looked at it). Kind of wish I had enough use for it to acquire it (and probably buy all new tires for it), but I don't.
You probably already know this, but the angle between the components I've marked with red lines here is not a good thing. On mine I found a broken bracket in the area of the green square ("guide assembly"). Pretty easy to weld it back together. I also had to torch off the 4 big bolts that hold the idler arms onto the rod and replace them with new ones.

Yes the adjusters have no threads left on them I just made some shims to get the tension good it’s just for playing with
Your "onion" scraper appears to be made by Letourneau. I don't know what model it is as I am not that familiar with them. Maybe a LS? About 15 yards?

Well okay then. I stand corrected. Always willing to learn something new. I have never heard of an Onion scraper but did note on reading the blog Gary posted that they were copied from the Letourneau design including the tendency to roll over without much effort! So maybe they were sort of a counterfeit Letourneau?
