I was curious if anyone has done ever purchased equipment from Omnitrac? They have quit a bit of CAT equipment for sale.

I have been a member of this bulletin board for awhile. Unfortunately, I currently do not own any equipment. I hope this changes soon, though. I was curious about what everyone thinks about there pricing of CAT equipment? I know some are in different stages of repair, but if anyone can let me know on what they think it would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to me that they may have a few good deals.

I have meet some of the nicest people in this hobby. On the board and at the shows that i have been to and I have not heard anything good from anyone that i have talked to. There are a lot of good deals and good machines out there i learned the hard way bought my first Caterpillar was said to be a good deal and it just turned out to be a boat anchor. Take your time
Just your location alone is a plus to someone getting into this hobby with a great Cat. Ask around to some of the west coast collectors they might have a nice machine for you.

What are you looking for or thinking about? What are you gonna use it for?

What ever you get, from where ever go and check it over in person. Start it from cold. Drive it around make sure it's exactly what you want.

Looking at his website the prices seem fair as long as they are usable machines.

You should fellow jmvmopar advice. That is go and look at it first hand.If it runs then see it run don't go by what someone tells you.I drove onetime 12 hours to look at a Cat 10 that I was told was a running tractor. The only problem was the owner forgot to tell me that he had took the tractor completly apart 15 years before and never put it back togather. So go and look at the tractor you are thinking about getting yourself don't let some one do it for you unless you really trust this person.Do some research before hand so you know what to look for. This BB is a great place to ask question you will all the answers you want from some real good guys.Have fun and good luck.Mike

You get what you pay for rebuilding any cat especially the older models is expensive and time consuming .But can be very rewarding and a better return than money in the bank. Atlas
