Hey Old Magnet,

It's been a little while. Mrs Huney is doing much better this last few weeks. I think the worst is behind us. It's been a long scary year.

I am familiar with the 10k model D6-c, but not the 69-j model. It's a 69-j 4235. What are the differences? Anything to watch out for?-glen

Hi Glen,
Good to hear things are looking up.....a tough road for sure.

69J4235 would be a 1976 model. 3306T (44V) engine, powershift, Japanese built, 4,518 units produced with production ending in 1978.
A few numbers short of ROPS adaptability at 4395, ROPS became standard with next years model.
Not a whole lot different than the later 10K model as far as I know. The only thing that might be troublesome (and expensive) is the sleeve metering fuel system. Easily upset if water is involved.

D6C 69J series were/are a very common tractor in Australia, 140hp (however a serviceman told me the first few were 125hp). Very reliable, most in Australia were imported with ROPS mounts if not with ROPS. Check diagonal braces for cracks, welds and plates, possibly the weakest part of them, often welded, but not correctly ie out of alignment, wear rollers, idlers and tracks abnormally, they also suffer from the usual flat track D6 problems with the outrigger bush etc wear.

Hi Wombat; yeah a lot came to this side of the ditch too, but were by far the most common D6C here.
Yes early ones were non turbo at 125 hp. A lot of them came here too but were not well liked; many people said the old 76A/96A models were better; certainly sounded better 👍 Drove a 96A for awhile; old girl certainly ran sweet. They were turbocharged after 69J 1989. Early and mid ones all had compact fuel pumps but after 2882 had SMFS
Read in the AC post you had a 11-B then later a D6D; out of corosity how did they compare ??
cheers from kiwiland; Merv

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
