Old D6 Dozer Weight ???

does anyone have reliable info on how much these old D6 9U cats weigh ? I found (what i think) is a crazy good deal on a running one and a parts cat that goes with it and id like to pick them up, but they are 5+ hours away from me and id like to know if i can haul both of them together on my lowboy legally or not.... the runner has a winch, the non runner is missing the blade, c-frame and upper part of the engine. thanks for the insight.

Around 40000 lbs the pair. Can't see the rear winch could be 2000 lbs there.

Here's some weights to work with..
9U (dry & bare) = 17,520 lbs
6A blade = 4,430 lbs
D6N winch = 1,635 lbs (w/o cable)
#46 Hydraulic control = 585 lbs
Empty cylinder head = 160 lbs

Bare tractor just under 19,000 pounds by the book. Track guards, brush cage, hard nose, hydraulics, and blade are all extra.

I had two 9U's delivered from half way across NY state---one complete with blade and rops and the other a bare carcass--hauler said he had to take back roads as he was overweight--he didn't have an R permit so that means he could only haul 80,000 lbs legally

Sorry about that I had not seen your post when I posted mine. I was working off memory which is getting more suspects all the time. The book I was thinking of was a Cat Production Handbook about 1970 that had HP and weight spec from the Rd's to what was current. And I made the mistake of loaning the book out, and is now lost like my memory.

id like to see more pics of that 9u that you have, looks like it has a different hood ? i like the look of what i can see.

unfortunately i think that im going to be over weight so now i have to decide if i chance it or make two trips....ill call the scale house tomorrow but i dont think that i can permit it because its a divisible load which sucks...

Im a bit confused, do you mean his max gross weight couldnt be over 80 000 lbs ? Because theres no way those 2 weighed more then 80k by themselves. Im going to call the scale tomorrow but i THINK my gross can be 103000 lbs and my rig weighs about 52000 which should mean ive got 51000 payload. But i need to check those numbers with a DOT officer...
