I understand that Cat has an oil for finals and transmissions that they have recently come out with. Someone here will know what it is called.
Years ago , I was told by a very practical cat mechanic to run series 3 SAE 30 and a gallon of motor honey (Lucas) in each final. It reduces heat and the acid pitting on the bearings that gear oil (SAE 90) does when they sit for a while. High sulfur content and condensation equals sulfuric acid. It seems to work, haven't lost any bearings.
Depending on the costs, next time, I'll go with the Cat oil or series 3 SAE 50 and motor honey. about 4 gal of oil and a gal of Lucas.

Thanks, Casey. Sounds like good advise. I suspect the CAT oil is cost prohibitive for me. I have to wonder though about these seemingly amazing additives like Bestline and Tufoil. Here are a couple of videos that are truly amazing:
