I ended up with 2 Murphy injestors and do not know what they are for. Each are in a wood box, and one is labeled 59G 11681A. The packing slip is still on one of the boxes, but have not removed it.
Was shipped from the Murphy Diesel Company, Milwaukee, Wis, to Korte Brothers, Inc of Fort Wayne, IN. Have not been able to find any info on the internet, and figured I would go to the Experts.

More than just CAT knowledge here. Thanks Dan

Reading this reminds me that the NorthWest Crane out at Rock River park has a Murphy Diesel in it.

Reminds me of one that got away...there was a Murphy sitting at an old abandoned dairy here for years, had been used last on a silage blower. I kept seeing it when I drove by, asked a welder friend who knew the lady that owned it to try & see if she would sell it...he never got around to it, & one day the whole place was cleaned up by a scrapper...
Love the sound of a Murphy...

Murphy was the engine for most Northwest machines and used in marine and generator units. It was designed by an engineer from California who had worked for Caterpillar. He left Murphy after designing engine but the company kept his name. It was hand built when most engines were assembly line built and tag with mechanic 's name stayed on engine . They were the best.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
