New! Sorry about the typo in the title! Autocorrect gets me every time. It was supposed to be "new cost."

Hello everyone I've tried searching the form, Google, Facebook groups, Etc. Ever since I got into the hobby I've been curious what the new cost of these machines was back in say 1940 for a D4 or D2. Even a base model. I've talked to a few folks that bought them new at that time and nobody could ever really pinpoint the price. Anybody out there have an old bill of sale and maybe an idea? More specifically looking for the price of a 4G D4 but anything that will give me an idea works. Thanks everyone!

So I tried replying to this thread and somehow started a new thread?

My 48 D2 5U came with the original manual and the date and price were written on it: Nov. 23 1948 Cost $3933.00

That has been discussed a bit here. But I never get much from searching the forum. I think someone had real price for a D2 at about $5000. What year and model I have no idea today. But I have a friend that had just purchased a New Holland/Fiat 80 HP wide gauge wide track shoes for vineyard work. He was replacing IH TD 6's that he still perfumier's to use and operate. I think the NH was about $45,000. Using a google search on inflation over the years the new tractor was very much the same price. Even though it has 3 hydraulic. valves and a 3 point hitch. I want to say this would of been 2016 to 18, but time flies when I have tractor fun. Not so much waiting for old age acks and pain to subside.

Well I see I did not read seyer's answer before writing, already off a $1000.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
