Hey Guys,
So as a little kid I`ve always had a admiration  with the older D9`S.
I really don`t know much about them and as I`ve gotten older it`s time to remedy that.
So is there any collections or collectors i can visit to get my fill of these beauties?
Bucket list item number 1 is to drive an older one , not cable but hydraulic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ny4Swb0ygX4.
Looking forward to getting an education.
Thanks Steve.

Welcome and I hope you find this fulfilling. I am kinda new, 3 months and thus far disappointed with all the broken promises and lies. But on your machine it’s awsome. I am a d2 person, cuz of fuel price I ca run it on my low money. Their are some smart folk on here, from all around. And maybe you can contribute some knowledge. But good luck

Mike - I usually don't comment on things like this, but I do take offense to your comment about broken promises and lies. As mentioned numerous times, the current ACMOC leadership has worked hard to keep this club from becoming extinct. The volunteers who make up our leadership have had to fix problems that have been snowballing for years, one being the store and another the magazine. I have a lot of merchandise that came from the store and I'd like to see it as much as anyone else, but since we lost our full time person, there is no one except volunteers, who do this on their own time with no incentive except to keep the club alive, it isn't possible now. I ask that you pitch in and help out to get the club back on its feet. And also thank those who have kept it from folding.

I fully agree with Cat Yellow1, regarding your comment about broken promises and especially lies.
Neither I nor my fellow directors would EVER lie to a member. And we do take offence to your comments.

Mike, I agree with Cat Yellow1. I'm sorry you had had some difficulties, but your comments are unwarranted. You are quick to condemn. I think you should give us some time to get through our difficulties. I wonder if you will be as quick to compliment if you are pleased...

Howdy Steve! D9s you say, eh? We had an avid collector and dirt artist (passed away) Glen Ghillotti that had several 18a's. Hopefully someone from his family/team of crawler nuts will bring them back out to play at a show. They are housed at his hobby farm/museum buildings in Sonoma County, California. If it ever happens someone will let you know! JM

Juiceman.  You have been nice to me and I appreciate it. It isn’t right or true to sign up a new member, in my humble opinion, with the promise of these things that you all know are not possible. At least change the platform of what is offered. Because people are signing up presently and you all are taking money knowing it can’t be produced. I hope this isn’t offensive, it’s my contribution to members and new comers. You guys are good honest people I’m sure but at the moment you are not transparent. Juiceman you speak your peace on here, please allow us to speak ours. Thank you sir. Mike Hudson

First and foremost - "jabberwoki" WELCOME to ACMOC - glad to have you join a wonderful, caring group of Caterpillar enthusiasts.

You will find a wealth of information, helpful advice and meet some fantastic people that love to share their experience and knowledge of the Caterpillar that this site is about.
As you find the time, explore the site, there are many posts in the forum that are sure to spark some interest.

PLEASE - do not let the NEGATIVITY spawned here in this post spoil your experiences with the club and members. Negative comments are in every venue so we accept them for what they are - NEGATIVE! Membership is purely one's own choice, if one is so unhappy with the Club, why stay?

Defamation of another member is not what this site is about, disagreements should be settled in other venues, not the forum. Doing such is just adding another nail in the proverbial coffin and is detrimental to the well being of the club!

In the years I have known many of the people within this club, I have never met one that was not helpful and sharing the same interests in Caterpillar.
Many freely VOLUNTEER countless hours and funds for the benefit of the club and membership. I hesistate to mention names as that leaves others unrecognized that are equally worthy.
To all of you - THANK YOU for you caring, honesty and unwavering dedication to the club as a whole.

Hi, jabberwocki.
I don't know if the museum is open for visitirs. My understanding is that it was set up first and foremost as a storage facility for the machines with the possible aim of becoming a museum down the track. Also as I understand it, there has not been a whole lotta interest from within the company or Glen's family for the machines.

How-wevver, if you contact the office of Team Gillhotti in Petaluma, CA., and ask them nicely, you MAY possibly be given access to the facility.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
