The Juiceman has a weakness for fast women and online auctions. I have a difficult time saying “no” when the opportunity arises. This time I blame Central Coast “accumulation expert” Robert Shaver for the tip.(It pays to be part of a chapter). Even thought we both stated that neither of us would do any bidding, we could not resist.

Turns out, fellow member Phillip M. had decided he has made enough $ raising winegrapes, it was time to thin the herd.

“Stop it some more” is my slogan…

What the heck, I got a jump on fall decorations;the Cletracs provide good contrast in front of my yard.

Perhaps I felt sorry to the Cletrac club folks?

Sparky2010 came by to help fire off the D2, but no suck luck. The Cletrac ADH and CaT 15 fired off immediately.

The E38 and D2 both have fuel issues. Gummed up gasoline! Cross our fingers they run by tomorrow. JM

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I apologize if I appear to be "gloating" or a bit proud of myself. The best part of my adventure was making a connection with the seller, which happens to be a club member (we actually belong to several other clubs, go figure). His family history goes back several generations in Sonoma County, and we have many mutual friends. Needless to say, I think he will be stepping outside the farm and will be an "active" member of Chapter 15, rather than being silent and on the sidelines (I was that way before!). I may have gained a few machines, but the ability to interact with a member and making a new friend? PRICELESS.

Unloading everything wasn't too difficult. The E38 Cletrac and CAT 15 being so small, I just used a forklift; The ADH Cletrac I put a jump pack to it and started it; the D2 got the rocket launch...go figure. We didn't notice it making any smoke while pushing it, so inside the shop it went.

The truck? It has a Cummins ISX 605. I took delivery of it in 2016 but let it sit outside for over 2 years before I would use it; I loved driving my 2004 Peterbilt with a "tuned" CAT C15 so much, I couldn't pull myself away from it. Gawd I still miss that truck; it resides in Ohio now. I can thank our state regulatory bodies for making it leave, only due to the year of manufacture, nothing else.

I get to help NickyBigNuts save a classic Peterbilt next week. I really think its a trick to buy me lunch at the Waterloo Club! JM

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
