I am in West Texas and have a No. 66 Caterpillar grader (hand controlled version) built in 1937 at East Peoria, Illinois. The serial number is #7H 33.
At the time it was built (early in the year), it was paired with the RD8 and RD7diesel-powered tractors and the Model Fifty gasoline powered tractor.
The cost of a No. 66 Grader in 1937 was $1,785.

I have received all of this information through a certified archivist with Caterpillar through photos I've emailed and conversations with her.

My question....What would this Grader potentially be worth? Does anyone have an idea? I will email pictures per request.

Thanks,
Matt Etheredge

Matt, I have a complete original unpainted 66 grader that I purchased for $1750 about 4 years ago. It was in Iowa at the cat show. The cost of trucking at the time was $1500. Dont forget this thing is 9'-6" wide at the rear axle. Problem to move long distances. I have built a new axle for mine to make it legal to transport to shows without permits. I pull it with my 60 or diesel 50. I can get the grader and tractor on one load. It makes an interesting attention getter when at shows, I use it (as long as I can get my father or someone else to run the tractor). To answer your question $3500 tops including transportation.
