I have a D6b with a #25 cable control, but don't know how to check the oil level in the control unit. Is there a plug on the side? Do you just fill up the tube to the top? And what type of oil is correct? 90 weight EP? Thanks for your help.

That's correct, late model units just fill the stand pipe on the LH side.

My 25 has a plug on the RH side for the level check and a filler plug between the fairlead sheaves, basically right between the drums.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
