Hello. New to the site. I have a D7-3T with a front CCU. Last Summer I installed a new brake band and parked the machine for the Winter. I did an electric start conversion on it this week. When I started it, the blade went up and broke the cable. In a nutshell, I think I forgot to tighten the center shaft clamp when I installed the new brake. Would this most likely be the problem? How do I correct this problem and readjust clutch? Lastly, I do have the "pony motor" for sale along with the clutch, linkage, etc. Also, I am looking for a new cutting edge for the 10' blade (92" edge and end bits). I can get them directly from Cat. Is there a better source?

Hi, and welcome.
We just had a discussion on that topic a few days ago:
Depends on the unit serial number, early ones could tighten, later ones would loosen.

Here are the instructions on adjustment:
Yes, the pictures are out of order, don't know why, they were loaded sequentially.
