Come on Gary, tell us how it was. I’m on the edge of my sofa wanting to know the full story. I guess I’m not the only person with a modified 17A! His looks like he spent some time making an “SA” machine out of it.
Much nicer than any of mine. JM
Juiceman,definitely a Special Application.It's a long story.This 17A has a high horse direct start D7E engine in it.Very nice driving tractor.
I’m envious. Tinkering in the shop is okay, but turning moist dirt is way more fun. Lots of mud here, and maybe leftover snow when my driver gets in tonight.
Give us the scoop on why he made that”Special Application” 17A
Hopefully 17A farmer will share the story of his 17A

Hi, gary in CA.
That's some tolerable 'steep' country in those photos. I guess it might just be true that there is no such thing as gravity but instead the Earth SUCKS.
It IS a nice looking tractor. So WHY do you ask, "or is it?"?
A kew-ree-yuss mind would like to know.
Just my 0.02.
Deas,I screwed up on the title and it won't let me edit the title. That's all.
Not all that I typed showed up on post.Just like this one
Sure thats a high hp? looks like a 160hp.
Maybe if we got to see the left side? High horse always had the horizontal element, whereas the 160 had the vertical as far as I’ve known. Regardless, it’s a cute tractor.
In the world of D7s I’ve driven, a 17A was my most comfortable and agile Ag tractor. I could chug along all day on about 40 gallons of fuel or less.
17a Farmer are you out there? Don’t be bashful, please tell us about your tractor. JM
