Hi Guys, I'm new to the 'Club' but not to antique goodies. I just want to introduce myself and what happens in the life of this South African. I am in the earthmoving parts and machine sales industry, so Caterpillar machines have been a big part of our business.
Over the years we have seen many awesome and rare machines but only recently entered into the antique side of Caterpillar. I was fortunate enough to find and buy a nice parcel of tractors in Ceres, in the Northern Cape in Sunny South Africa. In the parcel were two D2's (A 3J and 4U) and two RD4's (4G), the latter being consecutive serial numbers.
So here starts our foray into resurrecting some old yellows and indulging in some awesome history.
Ill keep in touch with our progress and answers for questions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks Guys
Dave

Hello Dave. Nice to have you here. It sounds as if you have fallen into a nice collection by default. Good for you. Consecutive serial number machines is a pretty neat thing. I hope you can them both operational. As always, pictures are welcome.

Welcome to the board!

If you need any info or just want to post pictures of your stuff, we like to see it here.

I see there is some Onan green in the list at the bottom. The best place for Onan is the Sparks n Arcs board on the SmokStak website run by Harry Matthews. Just like here, someone knows about most anything and everyone appreciates pictures etc.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄
