Hi all its been years seance I have posted on here. Not really had any new Cats just bought and sold the old 5T twice. I found this little guy on a local classifieds. Pretty early serial number it had not run in a few years got it home cleaned the pony gas tank and fired it up runs good steers the brakes need adjusted (I hope thats all it needs) but they work good. Now I have a question for you Cat gooroos. There is a Cat 22 Dozer here in town the guy says it runs but the clutch slips. It's in good shape for the age what would that be worth? with and without the dozer. I think I may buy it and put the dozer on the D2 I have a use for a small dozer.

Thanks in advance
Kenny

Hard to tell what something is worth without going over it quite carefully but I have seen 22's in our tri-state (KS, CO, NE) area go from $1500 to $8,000 all depending on condition and none had a dozer. A big advantage you don't have far to go to get that one!! Good luck. D2 doesn't look too bad compared to most I have seen around here!

Anyone have any idea where to find clutch parts? The guy I got it from said there is a shop in Salt Lake City UT. that can rebuild the disk.

If the disk just needs linings, just about any brake and clutch shop can do those - you just need to tell them how thick the linings need to be. I'm going to guess at 3/8 overall (3/16 each side) but maybe they're 1/2 new. If you figure out what it's supposed to be, let us know because I need to get my disk relined. The bearings can be had from Cat or any bearing store. The thrust bearing is just a regular ball bearing - I haven't researched whether it can be substituted by a "proper" thrust bearing. The pilot bearing is the same as a D2 thrust bearing, judging by the part #

Update - the pilot bearing outer race I have for it is a Delco Hyatt OR304 which should cross to Cat 1B3740. There is a roller assembly which per the D2 manual is 1B3739 and the "inner race" for the pilot is actually the transmission shaft. The thrust bearing I have is an SKF 6209-2Z/C3 - don't have my Twenty-Two parts catalog handy to get the Cat # but will later if someone doesn't beat me to it__PRESENT

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
