I dragged home this '49 International KB-7 today. Truck has 80K original miles and the body is really straight and clean. No rust or dents anywhere. It'll need a carburetor rebuild to get it running (running faster than idle for more than 24 seconds anyway :lol😊 and a new fuel pump.

I don't know if it will haul my D2 or not (most likely Not), but with the 89 horsepower Blue Diamond engine, it's probably not worth trying. The truck has a 2 speed rear end and a 16' bed with hoist.

Nice find Rich. I'm sure the old truck has hauled a lot heavier loads than your D2. It should easily transport your D2 wherever you want to go. Just don't be in a hurry.

Rich, back in the day...

I am sure you will be the talk of the show when you arrive with the KB and D2 in tow. Hey, I didn't see you at the HCEA show last weekend.

Yeah Bruce, I wanted to go to Bowling Green but paying property taxes soaked up all of my "play money". I ended up staying home, cleaning out the garage and listing some stuff on Fee-bay and craiglslist for sale. I'm cleaning house and getting rid of projects that have been waiting for too long (and trying to make some room in the garage before winter).

So, now I buy another old truck to restore.........so much for eliminating excess projects.

Mike, Last weekend the 'Zoo was home of the National Street Rod Association's Nationals North car show (that's partly why I didn't make it to Bowling Green). I took the Jeep to the Cruise-in last Saturday night and at least a dozen street rodder's all asked me how fast it went. I always answer that the Jeep will do 80 mph in the trailer.😆

The KB-7 will probably be fine around town but not for any long distance shows.

I hauled my D2 around for many years on a 1964 IHC Loadstar--V304 engine, 4 speed + 2 speed split, six bolt Budd wheels. No problems whatever, and I'd say it is a lighter truck than your KB--RGVW 24,000 I believe. Check your Rated GVR on the tag in the door jamb. I have found that IHC trucks are good for every ounce that they are rated for with a bit of extra to spare. Your biggest headache--parts for the hydraulic brakes.

I also have a R190 of 1958 with 5/6 yd dump box. R series was about one jump newer than your K series, actually little changed but the tin. The R190 runs a Red Diamond 450, not many of those around still running either. It's slow, but I could drive it up the cat trails when I was hauling fire wood some years ago. It's just a tough old truck.

Carbie has been rebuilt and what once was gasoline drained from the fuel tank (that 6+ year old gas is smelling pretty ripe too). I have the truck running much better but still needs some jetting done. Got the brakes happening too, and that's when the fuel pump diaphragm sprung a leak. I have a kit for the pump on the way but until it's rebuilt I really don't want the fuel pump squirting gas into the crankcase and diluting the oil.
