Hi all, I am a new member from Kansas and have the following Cat equipment on the farm that belonged to my Grandfather that I hope to restore. The oldest is a 1930 Thirty purchased in 1931 that currently is not running. A dirt contractor recently looked at it and was surprised how tight everything was. It needs the mag reinstalled, the carb rebuilt and the water pump repacked. It was equipped with lights but the generator is gone. The lights have been stored in the shop for the past 50 years and are in good shape except one is missing the ring that holds the glass in place. The top was also removed and parts of it are in the iron pile. The next one is a 1936 Twenty Two that was purchased new. It runs but needs a few parts to make it original. Both Cats were used for farming. The last one is a 1945 D-4 with a Baldwin blade and Hyster winch. It also runs and is used for dirt work around the farm. It was purchased in the 1940's. I also have a Caterpillar combine from the 1930's and a Caterpillar pull type grader. I don't know much about either of them other than my Dad said the front wheel fell of the combine when it was being use and gave him quite a jolt. They used it until about 1958. The last thing is not really a Cat product but my Grandfather and Dad liked Caterpillar products so much that instead of getting my older brother a pedal tractor like everyone else they got him a pedal D-4 caterpillar, I remember that it was hard to pedal. I also still have it. There are some old parts and tools stored in the shop that I may need help identifying which cat they go to. I am retired enough to spend some time working on this stuff and my need some advice. One question I can think of is an American Bosch Mag correct for the Thirty? There is the one stored in the shop that I think fit it.

Gordon, welcome to the club. You certainly have lots of toys to play with. Take your time and enjoy it. You will find lots of very knowledgeable and helpful people in this club. I am currently restoring a 1935 CAT 22, 2F5209, so I may be able to help you on that one. Ray

Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll be asking for help. I just came in from the shop. I was sorting through boxes of old tools and think I found some cat tools. Is an T-791 a Cat wrench?
