Craiglist in Greensboro has what the add calls a new D8K for sale. They claim it has been in storage for 42 years. What do you think?

Hi, Folks.
Since O-I-H has SAS - short attention span - and forgot/neglected/failed/chose not to post the link in his post, I'll do it for him - - - hope it doesn't turn out upside down. LOL

Just my 0.02.

P.S. Hi, Paso Bob.
You and I must have been posting at the same time 'cos I didn't see your post before I started typing mine. Hafta admit though, yours may be a little more 'polite' than mine.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
$130 DOLLARS??????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????
Some people on CL think it's cool to say $10 when they mean $10,000 etc.

So I assume they want $130,000 for the D8.

Obviously it has been painted, but I wonder if it was camouflage before? From what I can make out in the pictures, either someone spent a lot of money buying replacement wear parts, or it really has never been used. Look at the wear edges on the rock guards. Even the draft arms and trunnions look like new. It would definitely be interesting to go look at it in person!

Hey Deas. I tried to post the link but my dang computer won't let me copy and paste from one website to another. SAS might mean Stupid As Sh*t to. You were not harsh on me. Remember I know you and how you are. 😖mash:😖mash:😖mash:😖mash:😖mash: I thank folks like you that have greater computer skills than me. Did the D8K come with welded hard surfacing on the blade edge from new?

What would this D8K cost brand new when it first came out?

In one of my heavy equipment magazines from 1975, one dealer lists a D8K "0" hours for $130,000, or with ripper, $147,000.

BS!! If it was stored then why has it been repainted, those cheap ass decals, dent in the fuel tank, hard face weld on the blade? bondo and paint does wonders! Thats just a military tractor that has sat around and been repainted! All the seals and o-rings are probably hard and will leak from age! good luck!

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
