Part of what we do around here is heavy trucking . Got a call from a lady that said " Everybody says you are the only guy that can get this dozer so I want to sell it to you". Went and looked little d2 at the back of a 700 acre farm. Two or three very steep gullies. Thing was less than 700 yds out to good road the other way, only thing was that 700 yards is part of a federal civil war park. Now way had to do the long way. Took two men , two lowboys, cat 322, and a squirt boom lift. Had it out and on the truck by noon. Check the photos, when I went inquireing about routes to get to it last night I talked to his neighbor (owner passed away 3 years ago) He says it runs , one of Jons last wishes was I com over and help him start the cat. Nothing to it he just plugged it up and started right up. After I unloaded it tonight I looked and yes there is a plug in and switch in the dash. I can,t wait for daylight to see if there is an electric motor stuck up in there. Fronted mounted hydraulic pump, funky blade & hydraulics to the back. Rails and sprockets look 70% or so.
Does not roll , acts like it might be stuck in two gears, but may be brakes stuck. Photos attached. Well I have to go back to school on uploading photos.

The plug and the switch is a interesting option, maybe that's where you plug in the air conditioner, I like recovery trips !

Lol the thing I can't get over is how clean of an install they did on that plug and switch, it looks like they trimmed the holes in the dash to fit all the contours of the assembly perfectly. Normally you would just see that thing totally hacked on there.

I can hardly wait to see how and if it works. Lots of backwoods, make it work, innovation out there. Look forwards to the pictures with it opened up so we can see.

Unless that is moss growing on it, I would say that Cat was a military one at one time. That sure looks like OD paint under the Cat yellow.

Remember all Caterpillar tractors built during the "War Years" were painted Olive Drab.
They were painted yellow by the Dealers afterwards.

That plug is for Power out, so something in there is providing power or signal. I think Palmer is right, it is a diagnostic tool.

Please don't forget to tell us what it is.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
