ACMOC formally announces the upcoming release of the first in a new series of scale model tractors. The D4 7U with 4 S blade and #44 hydraulic will be built in 1/16 scale. The model will be made by SpecCast Collectibles in Dyersville, Iowa. This is the first new model since the 2012 release of the Terracer and Hi-way Patrol series of implements, also in 1/16 scale. Currently, the pre-production is ongoing with CAD images and 3D modeling being presented to the ACMOC model experts for scrutiny and comments to assure accuracy. Once final modeling critiques are satisfied, final tooling and production schedules are created, and an expected delivery date can be set. These models will be a perfect compliment to the D2 series created back in 2001.

Glen, Pete sums it all up pretty well. Sorry I didn't reply earlier. Between Pete, Dave T., Kent B. and the rest of the Models and Merchandise committee, this new series has been a labor of love. I think we've got a great model here. Your response underscores the support for it. Thanks.

Not to be negative but just wanted to mention by observation but it looks like the lift cylinder brackets on the track frame are too far forward for a four roller track frame. ??? They are actually set forward for the five roller frame. Gary

Overall looks nice, but nice to get the details right. It looks like the clutch levers are too large, out of scale, makes it look like a Norscot cheap toy.
CCM got the blade mounts wrong when they did the D2, they are set too far back for the model they produced, they used the mounts for an earlier model. http://www.ccmodels.com/caterpillar-Cat-D2.shtml
Here is a Gilson Riecke D4.

Keep in mind that these are only rough examples that are presented for our critique. There are flaws and everything you fellows mentioned (and a lot of items you haven't) has already been observed and reported. More importantly, those issues have been corrected and we are working on the next round. This is how it is with every model, not just ours.

Looks allot better Pete. one more thing on the blade, the sides are tapered they should be straight all the way down.

Also the tilt braces at the top were "ball and socket" not pin type. The brace was threaded at the bottom of the tube.

The same goes for the diagonal braces, they were "ball and socket" at the back of the blade and pinned at the push brace.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
