Well I spent most the day fighting with the pony clutch and plugged fuel filters but I got it started. Now it just needs to start when the lowbed gets there. Anyone recognize the Logo showing through on the fuel tank?

Hi, Strickl.
Great stuff and a nice catch. From around 10,000 miles away, it looks pretty straight too. I LIKE the teeth welded to the corner tips on the blade. Thanks for sharing.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Nice tractor, looks like the bonnet and dash have had the wings clipped to look more like a 14A.

Hi, Wombat.
I have seen a few earlier D8s across the puddle with their 'elephant ears' trimmed to improve the operator's vision. Never seen it DowNunda - maybe DowNunda operators could handle the vision restriction better?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Wombat,

You know I looked closely at that firewall and saw that it was different from the 13A I run all the time that belongs to the Antique Gas and Steam Engine museum in Vista CA. I thought maybe they changed things on the later models. Ours is a 1954 I think. Anyway, good observation. It is true, you can't see off them very well, particularly on the opposite side from the operator's seat.

Hey Team,

It was a very popular conversion in California. I believe Peterson started converting older Elephant Ear Dashes to 14-a dash and hood conversions for operator visibility. I've always heard it referred to as a Peterson Conversion Dash...

Here's a better picture of the sticker. never had a model 25 power unit but I stole the brake band and clutches out of the left winch and put them in tbe right side and put him to work. Burns oil but not much blow by... any ideal? Valve guide's? Do theses 13000 have valve stem seals? Got the rust polished off at least. Still have lots of work for him.
Thanks Jesse

try adding about a gallon of rislone to the engine oil, and then work the snot out of it, chances are it never got warmed up properly or idled around some and carboned up the rings. also make sure it is coming up to temp, change thermostats if you have to, ideally it should run about 185 f.

I will try some rislone. It was 110°f this last week end.... not a problem getting it hot.
Thanks Jesse
