Cat didnt have a torque setting for those bolts. I have just used standard grade eight torque specs. Lubed is 282 ft lbs and dry is 339 ft lbs. 250 ft lbs with anti-seize should be good. Recheck them after a few days work.

Thank you, rechecking good adivice. Tom
Your welcome Tom.
Cat spec for 3/4" plow bolts is 350 ft-lbs +/- 35 ft-lbs.
I have had these tapered bolts break easy with too much torque, they are week at the end of the taper.
If this is the bolt type that you are referring to, they are the strongest bolt you will find anywhere on a Cat machine. Far stronger than any grade 8 ever made.
I have taken them out after being in place for 60 years using a 1" drive 3:1 torque multiplier using 6 feet of pipe on the 3/4" ratchet. You can break them, but it will take some effort.
Don't worry about over torquing them when you put them it - turn the impact gun up and pound them in.

I wouldn't got that far, I've managed to break two of those side plate bolts, both in the same place, both sides and yes they sheared where the taper hits the thread and this was during the removal process.
