Hello everyone, thanks for letting me join. I have a 933G Traxcavator (1966 I believe) with a series number of 42A6451 and it does have a turbo. The engine has recently been rebuilt (before I bought it) but now the water pump leaks bad and the bearings are gone. I have taken to caterpillar and they cannot help me. I need a water pump (new or used) for this piece of equipment. Can someone help me? Thanks to everyone.

Complete new or used pumps can be hard to find. Why not rebuild the one you have. Parts should still be available.

What OM said. If you can't find someone to rebuild it, send it to me and I will do it. Have done several from various models of CAT engines about that age.

I don't understand the mentality of the CAT dealership not offering more help than that. How many folks are going to buy a replacement track loader when they tell him a new water pump isn't available?? Probably someone will, but most won't....... and the one that will may go buy a John Deere!
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄

Hi CCJ,
to put it simply, WE have retired and there is no one at The Dealers these days that would even know what a 933G was let alone be able to overhaul a water pump--everything was heading for Parts Exchange well before I left and there would be no P Ex water pumps from that era stocked--not economically viable.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I would be happy to send to you to rebuild and as I am in Georgia, you are close to me. I dont have the time or knowledge to fix it myself. My number is 706-536-7403 and I would like to talk to you more about doing this if you don't mind. Cale Collier

CCJersey, thanks for stepping right up there to help someone in need! This is what our community is all about. Nothing better than all the knowledge that can be shared between Carerpillar collectors. Thanks again, Steeltracs

Sounds like this project may be a challenge because of unavailability of a replacement for the (damaged) impeller. I am waiting to see it in person.

Friend has a hot rodded 9u D6 that has one of the Cat engines that was built in very small numbers. He needed a water pump and found a company that was into building parts and rebuilding water pumps. Not cheap but he has a working tractor again. I am sure he found them on the web,but if any are interested I can ask if knows the name any more.

Same impeller used on the D311H and D320/T
They seem to be around...
