Need help in locating valid part numbers and parts availability for front idler on D4 7U 12358 (HT4 1497). The main housing for axleshaft is identified by CAT as "bearing" P/N 1F2577 and 1F2578. I cannot locate P/N for internals;
1 Rubber circular gasket w/ four holes for pins
2 Bellows oil seal also with four holes for pins
3 Steel disk/washer for bellows to wear against
4.Bushing (bearing) for idler, I.D. is 1.75 inches cannot obtain good O.D.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.
thanks
Frank

Can you tell us where you are getting the 1F2577/8 numbers? Are these casting numbers off the parts or Cat part numbers.
I looked through all my D4 stuff and don't find those numbers for the idler bearings. There are part numbers 1F3645 and 1F3646 which would be found on the early HT4's.

The HT4 uses the large diameter (25-5/8 in.) idler which uses bearing blocks that are different than the regular tractor small diameter idlers and are found in the "Attachment" section of the parts manuals. The parts that are not shown in the attachment section are the same as the regular idler group for the tractor serial number. Assuming they have not been changed.

Oz;
I agree, have found parts breakdown for the ht4 in back of book page 279, bus does not show internal parts breakdown. Your reference parts page is identical to my parts book page 142.
thanks

OM;
The part numbers of 1F2577/8 are taken off the casting and are CAT p/n's. What I was attempting to state yesterday was CAT calls these P/N "bearings", but they are the main idler casting which carry the idler axle, not really a "bearing" or "bushing". Agree, the HT4 uses the larger 25 5/8 idler, and if my parts books are correct, the 1F2577/8 are the correct "bearing blocks" for my idler configuration. The only pictorial parts breakdown of internal parts is what OZ recommended above, which I finally found in my parts book.
Per my parts book your reference idler bearing P/N of 1F3645/6 are for 7U1 thru 7U 869, Assume CAT went to the 1F2577/8 casting P/N then, or possibly went to the heavier casting for the HT4 series.
Thanks for the help..

Did a search on Machinery Trader and it appears the 1F2577/8 is a good part number for the idler bearings as Cat calls them. I'll look at some later parts books to see if they show up. There were many versions of these bearing blocks over the years.

Ok, found the parts as part of the 3H3538 Front Idler Group.
They are the heavy duty wear guide type.
Same info applies....what isn't shown in the attachment section is standard parts for the matching serial number tractor.

Thanks for the extra research, believe I have the correct part numbers for the internals of the idler. My parts book also shows the 3H3538 Front Idler Group with the 25 5/8 dia idler. I assumed the 1F2577/8 parts were heavy duty due to the HT 4 loader attachment. Per my books and OZ appears the internals are 1F2741 bushing (4ea); 7B5638 seal (4ea) and 7B5639 plate for seal (4ea). Do your other parts books agree with these numbers??
thanks for your help in researching P/N's

Yes, those are good numbers all the way up to sr. #7U43898 at which point they changed to the duel-cone type seals.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
