Hey Team,

What can you tell me about a D6c 74-a 1945;
1) What year?
2) hp?
3) pitch on sprockets?
4) did they come stock with bolt on segments on the sprockets? It has them.
5) rail height?
Thanks
Glen

Thanks OldMagnet,

I'll post pictures later, picking it up on Tuesday. Undercarriage is worn, but the tractor is clean. Reminds me of the TractorDon 9u I bought. Well not that bad but, that undercarriage, with the wrong pitch tracks on, was the ugliest set of tracks I had ever seen... Hahaha... So these on the 74a aren't as bad, but they will get better. The price was right.
Thanks again
Glen

Glen,

Will I still have to shift gears sometime in the future? Or is it a PS?

Your D6B is one sweet tractor so you are adding another one? Happy for you.

As the owner of my 2nd 74A, (1090), I think you've found a great machine. They seem to be very durable. A neighbor bought one new and used it in an ag application. At 18,000 hours they did a PM on the engine. They replaced one piston and sleeve, a valve job and new rod bearings and put it back to work. The repair was done by a VERY particular and cranky Cat mechanic, so it must have been in pretty good shape.

I've made a few changes to mine and have a few parts. 1. Single flange roller. 2. Fixed drawbar. 3. 4 Each 24volt lights.
If any of these fit your intended use and you would like more info, just let me know.

Casey

Hey Jan,

The D6-b gets lonely waiting on the one D6-9u & 60 scraper. I just wanted to keep it happy with another Scraper Cat. Just need to find a 60 to go with the 74a now... Lol Sounds like the 14-a may be busy with Dw-20's and Dw-21's running around this year at Santa Margarita Show.
