Looks pretty nice--good grousers, electric start pony, winch, etc. I don't know if that serial # is late enough for the extended clutch housing where you can replace the clutch without pulling the engine. The larger size front idlers, i think 23 1/2" are great for keeping the nose from diving down when you lift the blade. They are usually solid idlers vs the spoked that you have.

In the 2nd photo, the track adjustment looks pretty far out?
Other than that, it doesn't seem too beat up for a tractor that obviously has been used to skid logs.

Nicely equipped! I may use that Roll cage as a model when I build mine.

I doubt that cage could withstand a roll but should be good for branches and widow makers.

I have a very similar 'cage' on my D2 and I think in the trade they are known as FOPS - foreign object protective structure designed soley for intercepting falling tree limbs and the like which might otherwise kill you😞

I guess iin a roll over they might also provide some limited protection - depending on how strong they are and how well mounted - which on a D2 and D4 is difficult to achieve unless you somehow tie them into the main transmission castings.

Nice machine by the way😊

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
