The elbow from the diesel to the pony took to leaking my D47U. The inlet to the pony motor has corroded. Checked at Quinn Caterpillar and found out that they don't make this part anymore. I am thinking of a weld repair. Does anyone know the original length of the inlet pipe to the pony motor on this elbow ( how far it should extend past the mounting flange). Failing that does anyone have a good one they want to sell?

Thank You

may want to check with a different dealer.
Carolina Cat shows online that they have one for $ 259.83
Not sure if this is correct but give them a ring just to make sure

Is it a similar arrangement as a D2, meaning, this part mates with the flange that has an O-ring? What I would do is just hold it up there and measure into the hole at the pony, making sure to leave yourself plenty.

Thank you Guys for the helpful responses. I called Carolina CAT and they do not have the part in stock. The used parts that I found appeared to be about the same as mine. The price ranged from $50 to $110. I came to the conclusion that a good used one would be hard to find. Decided to repair the part. I could not find a scale schematic of the part to find the correct length of the pipe connecting to the pony motor. Rather than risk ruining the part by doing it myself, I had an old school welding shop repair the part. They cut the existing steel pipe off of the casting and soldered a new one (1 1/2" long). It looks good and cost $35.
Thanks again for the help.
