Im having trouble with my blade floating out of the dirt and skimming on top the grass. I need it to stay in the dirt so I can destroy the small trees that are invading my crp ground. Ive changed the pitch to both extremes and it seems to work a little better with the top all the way back but I cannot get the blade to stay in the dirt. Please Advise.

Got some pics of the undercarriage and would like to know what kind of shape it is in.

My starting engine controls are all down by the engine instead of accessible from the seat,( Throttle(diesel),"start run",clutch lever, and "hi lo")why is it different than the 14A manual I have? Im guessing the military wanted it that way?

I just got my new machine home yesterday, the m870A1 trailer and M920 truck worked very nice.

Thanks in advance for all the advice.
Ross/Nebraska

I assume you have a cable blade. A good cutting edge and end bits would help. Go across field in one direction, turn around and come back across in the same path against the grain/lean of the trees.

If they're just scattered here and there, drop one corner of the blade and "dip" them out one at a time as you come to them....like picking your teeth.

You didn't say what size they are but the best thing if they are numerous but not to large would be a heavy duty ROME dozer disc harrow......or a heavy duty rotary mower and mow them down then disc.

The only advice that I can give for certain in this case is......get your hair cut short so you don't pull it all out by the roots.

Been there done that and kept my hair cut short.

Now it shows me the pictures.

Hey, that doesn't look bad. Just tilt the blade and pick one at a time with an end bit. Dip it up, shake it off and go to the next bush.

The undercarriage looks good to me......should last you a long time.

Hair is short so im good to go. There are lots of little trees, too many to drop the corner and hit each. Perhaps I should try to sharpen the blade a little.

Since it's CRP land, I would see what they have to say about what is permissible to do.

As for me, I would dip out the big ones and then I would spray chemicals to kill them all. Then bush hog every year until needing chemicals again. I had sweet gum trees taking over my CRP ground and chemicals were the only thing that worked for me.

The images in your first post appear to be comming from a secure server (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2jtaQM4Xvv8/Ueq1-x439LI/AAAAAAAAAcs/NS33pJsSrHw/s800/20130720_103805.jpg?gl=US) and my Firefox browser doesn't display them.

Two things.

First, thanks for the CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) info. I would have never figured it out.👍

Second, thanks for fixing the photo "problem", I was thinking it was my computer...👋

Actually, last, I do not really have any input to the dozer blade digging in question, sorry.:noidea:

Looks like you need to pitch the blade forward more. Tilting it down on the left side for grubbing larger trees works good also. Grubbing the larger trees out stacking them then disking the rest works good. The less grass you get mixed in with the brush the better burning.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
