Hmmm, my info shows the 2S series to be a D8800 (4-cyl) engine produced from 1942 to 1946.
Could the 2 be a 3? A 3S would be a D17000.

Jim, also double check the number part. The 2S, 3S, 4S ... series all end much lower than 16,000. The only industrial engine of this vintage that runs up into 16,000 + would be the D318 (5V).
A Picture would be even cooler!:cool2:

I will take a pitcure of it on my phone. My guss is it is a D333.It has the intake built in the head and the head patrudes wider than the block with small freeze pluges in it. To me it look's like the engine in the first D5's and D6 b's. Jim

Well if that's the case you got your self a snappy motor!!!:whip:
Hey Bruce:hail:, the 342 isn't that the 14a-15a D8 motor? Now if that replaced the D318 what kind of work were they doing with it?
That does look like the motor Bruce, D4 Dan at Granger Tractor asked what the PT# on the block was, He said a D333 would have a 7M XXXX no. but mine is 5S 6777 and 1P 6369 on the head. Jim
