Hello all,
Knowing that Altorfer Cat in Springfield would be setting up in a new Facility sometime this year (from talking to one of my mechanic friends), I called up and talked with the store Manager about having some Caterpilllar Machinery up there for them as a way of showing where Cat has been along with the new,and also to promote thChapter 20 of the ACMOC. This new Facility is on Wabash Avenue right off the I-72 exit.
Talking with Joe Keen yesterday it looks like Wednesday May 25th is the date for this Open House. This is all I have now as they are still in the process of planning this event. In fact he stated that the Facility is still getting drywall hung, as well as getting everything moved across town. But we are on the list of events that will be there that day.
So to get the planning of this event under way we need to know who and what can show up, so we can figure out where we need to set up on the grounds. I will get my No. 4 Hi-Way Patrol up there, and if I can find a way my 22. It would be great to have a large showing of different Antique Machinery up there.
If anyone is available to bring a machine up please let me know at [email protected] so I can keep a list of machines showing up to pass along to them.

Still looking for machinery for this event. Be great to have some early merger machines or Best Holt samples to show off. Please PM or e-mail me if you can bring anything to the open house.

K ag-mike you have until May 25th to find a way to haul. LOL
BTW the address for the new facility is 4949 International Parkway, Springfield, Il. This right off the Wabash/ Curran exit of I72. Just found the address via google search. So it is right off the interstate and easy to get to.

This event is still a go, though I am still waiting for more word on the setup for the day. I stopped by several weeks ago and both Joe Keen, the Sales Manager Bill Payne, the parts manager love the idea of Chapter 20 and other yellow fever infected individuals bringing up their big boy toys. I haven't heard of where we are setting up, but we are a go. This event is still May 25th, they stated that it is fine with them if machines come down a day before on the 24th.
Their new location is off exit 91 of I72 (Wabash exit). So far coming are me with my Hi-way Patrol #4 grader with terracing wheels, Don Henley will bring his restored PL20, Dave Tallon will have his PT10, and Billy Irving will bring the 1971 D6C from the Decatur factory. We are welcoming all antique Cats to come to promote both Chapter 20 and the National ACMOC. I hope to have the chapter banner with us, along with information and maybe ACMOC merchandise of all works out.

Just talked to Joe Keen today, he said the open house begins at 3:00 pm so he would like us all set up and trailers out of the way by noon. He also said that machinery they could be dropped the day before. I am going.to re to be up by 10:00 or before if all goes as planned with my grader. All machinery is welcome. Just let me or Joe know before hand so we can think on space and size coming for the display. I told Joe I is his show we are just coming along for the ride and to promote the club.

Thanks all who have replied,
Rodney Eichen (Rodten)

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
