I need to find a water pump for my 1956 D69U.
I tried changing the seals and bearings but it still has a leak from
the bottom of the pump.
Any help wll be appreciated.
Thanks

I had a water pump that leaked after 2 rebuilds thought it was time to stop all wrenching,as I don't claim to be a mechanic.Turned out to be combustion gases escaping from engine around the precombustion chambers. A short term fix is taking the rubber seals out of the radiator cap. If the chambers look good as well as the seal washers then the fix gets to be real work. The seats for the precups need to be ground ,there was a thread that explains how to do this if you need to have this done.

Mine is leaking just trying to fill the thing up with water.
Not even running. The new seal just does not want to seal off with the new impeller.

I have done some jiggering to make some water pumps seal. Seems likely that the impeller is not actually contacting the carbon ring of the seal assembly. Have seen them missing the ceramic seat glued to rear face of impeller or possibly there were some impellers that never had the ceramic seat and the carbon ran directly on the cast iron impeller hub. It is usually possible to extend the range of the seal bellows slightly by bending the retaining tabs on the brass seal cup up a little to get good contact between seal and seat.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time😄
