there are two style of blades I am curious about. One is the old 7s that was made during the 3t and 17a days. It has different bracing then the "newer" 48a. and the ribs on the back of the blade are covered. what is the difference in the bracing (for a tilt cylinder)? why did Cat change? Thanks, Lex

If Deas gets as good at confessors (computers) as he is with a crawler he will fix it. But I fear he might not have that many years left. So hope and prayer are all I can recommend currently.

I will say pictures would help, but I am challenged and need help with that myself. So I understand not even trying on here.

Are they all Cat blades? It is possible they may have been changed out over the years.

Ray 54, I just got a 48a with tilt, rough arms, loose joints, etc . I am looking at an 8s with tilt so i can rob the arms and have and extra pile of iron to set around. the 48a blade is newer and the 8s is older but tighter. the braces are different and I was just curious why. Go to ACMOC Member Area---technical library documents---accessories---bulldozers==NO 7a, 7s bulldozers17c,55a,56a, form m 1038f go to page 18 and that looks like the 8s blade==========go to NO 7a , 7s bulldozers 22f1-up 23f1-up 6414-up page 19 m1020-01f and that is what the 48a has on it now. The 8s is too heavy but I believe I can stand the weight of the arms vs the cutting and welding of the arms I have. Thanks, Lex

Hi, Priceless.

The last icon in the line above the text box where you type your posts is the icon for photo posting - click on it and follow the 'destructions'. As I have posted elsewhere on this forum, if after you have gone through the process, you end up with a small square in this text box where you expected your photo to be, click on the icon above and repeat the process.

The system ISN'T perfect but if you 'annoy' it enough it usually gives in and uploads your photo.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
