Mrs. “G” takes the Caterpillar D9 for a ride.

My bride and I visited Gerhart Equipment for the Mack Truck show.

As usual, there were several pieces of earth moving machinery running – just for fun.

I encouraged Mrs. “G” to try her hand at the Caterpillar D9G with the scraper.

Gary Mace rode along to show her some of the finer points of operation – NOT (!) that Mrs. G couldn’t handle it herself mind you.

Once the ride was over she exclaimed “that was really fun”.

Here are a few pictures and a video:

Hi Bill,
looks like another Track Type Tractor convert in the making, or, is this where the girls get their interest in things mechanical (steam) from? The front lawn is going to be crowded with a D9 and Scraper rig parked there.
Reggie will have trouble getting to the operators platform on that rig, BUT, he will have plenty of room to stretch out.
Thanks for the news.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Good to see the little lady of the house is getting some operating time behind the D9 controls. A family that plays together, stays together.. Thank you Bill, we all appreciate your postings.

That is a lot bigger tractor than I have ever operated! I'm sure she did a credible job. GWH

I'll bet there is another Cat in the future for the Glenn household!! 😆😆

Great Pics. Reminds me of many many years back when I ran a D9 pushcat & scraper during the summer. Still remember the first time I upset the scraper. :behindsofa:

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
