Hi, Hobo Groh.
That is a Domor side elevator attachment on a Cat 12 grader, common back in the 1950s and '60s. From the orientation of your photos - ah supp - that machine might have been here in DowNunda. LOL

You think it would work on a diesel no 10 if it is possible to find one

Hi, Hobo Groh.
I don't know. I have never had the chance to inspect one close up but I suspect that the drive for the elevator comes from the power shaft under the cab, the same one that drives the grader controls, and I would not be surprised if there was a special drive box to fit to the end of the power shaft and the bottom of the vertical column to allow that drive to be extended to the elevating grader.
Then there is the question of whether or not the number 10 would be heavy enough to carry that weight out to the side like that. I suspect that it would carry it but I don't think I'd want to be side cutting too many slopes with that side downhill.
I think that pretty much any short, light belt conveyor would do the same thing if you could mount it and get a drive to it. It would be neat to have the original but a home-made one would be neat as well.

The Drive comes from the rear end of the grader, if you look closely at the photo you will see the drive box on the back.

will it raise high enough to load a truck? What would it be good for? Several passes could create ditch and move the dirt to build a berm.
