Hi, D6c10k.
You mighta 'dodged a bullet' too. The inspection report says, "Engine could not be started." 'Cos of this, they could not do any of their normal low speed driving checks. Whether the engine could not be started 'cos of a pony motor issue or an issue with the diesel is not mentioned - or if it was, I missed it.

Just my 0.02.

Deas that also could mean the wet behind the ears inspector couldn't find the starter button.

Hi, Kracked1.
Possibly. There were a few other things in the inspection report that indicated that they had not gone to much trouble.

Copied from site:

Operational test is limited to low speed in a confined flat area without load. Differential interlocks, full transmission shifting and functionality of all drive axles cannot be fully verified. Inspector listens for abnormal noises, observes leaks and notes physical damage.
Description Rating Details
Transmission Not visible
Steering Clutches Not visible
Final Drives Not visible
Limited Function Check (Drivetrain-Track) The drivetrain could not be operationally checked.
(2)

End copy.

Did they even bother to pull the transmission dipstick? Remove the inspection covers or drain plugs. Remove the filler plug or loosen the drain plug?

I suspect not.

Hi, Kracked1.
I missed that one but then I wasn't really looking hard either. Their comment on that says something about their inspection too.

Shame, its done hardly any work, although the idlers are at the end of their adjustment and the rails look a little low, the hex track nuts and spring washers tell me that they could be the original tracks, could be a good project machine at the right price.

Hi, Dpan.
Two diff'rent ID plates - one is Air Force - 2U 17203 - and the other is Army Corps Of Engineers - 2U 15372.

I'm curious to know what make and model scraper that near one is in the last photo.
