It is with great sadness that I learned this morning that longtime collector Mike Bouris of Menifee Valley, CA. passed away at 6 am this morning at the age of 61 from brain cancer. Mike and his dad Herc were pioneer farmers in Southern California farming many thousands of acres. The Bouris family had (and the next generation has) a real passion for antique tractors, many of them used in their farming operations.

Mike was a fixture in and around Southern California antique tractor and farm shows. All of us who attended the Tulare Antique Farm Equipment Show got to know Mike, who could always be seen operating his beautifully restored Minneapolis 35-70 prairie tractor which he regularly brought to Tulare along with his beautifully restored Holt 45, Cat 60, Cat 30 and his tractor pulling rigs. Mike also had all of these tractor at the Best Show on Tracks in Woodland and at the Paso Robles Pioneer Day Parade in 2008. Mike was one of those great guys who would give you the shirt off of his own back or offer words of encouragement if things were tough. Mike will be missed by lots of folks.

I will post the arrangements when they have been finalized. Please keep Mike and his family in your prayers.

Thats terrible, I aways enjoyed Mike's company. Is Mike the 2nd generation or his kids? So many later generations don't have the love for antiques and sell everything after a passing. Hopefully his kids have the love for antiques.

Hi all,

Here is the information for Mike Bouris's services. I live only 5 min away from him and I would regularly stop by after work and would help him in the grain cleaner or put on a tractor in some field. It really is sad I only got to know Mike these last 5 years and not earlier, but he was always welcoming and a true friend. He was instrumental in saving our threshing demonstrations at Vista the last several years, helping me get wheat cut with their McCormick Deering Binder. He will be surely missed...

For those of you who will be able to join us to celebrate Mike Bouris's life, here are the details:

Viewing - Sunday, September 2nd
at Evans-Brown Mortuary
27010 Encanto Drive Sun City, CA 92585
from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Celebration of Life - Monday, September 3rd
at Canyon Lake Community Church

at 11 a.m.

followed immediately by lunch and stories
at Bouris Ranch

In lieu of flowers, the family would love donations to either

Mike Mc

Mike Bouris was 2nd generation. Mike's dad Herc who rounded up and restored most of the tractors died in the mid 2000's as I recall.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
