Does anyone know anything about McAninch Corp? Are they still in operation and if so what's left of them? Heard alot of stories about them and was just curious if they're still going. Seen a bunch of pull scrapers they had for sale a few months back, 463's, 641's, and 651's. Haven't seen them on a bidders list and their site is pretty well down.

I have heard from a friend of mine that works with CAterpillar that McAninch has downsize quite abit.I can understand where they are coming from.I was part of a family owed construction company,we got out of the business about 3 years ago.We had all the big stuff 992"s,5110,773"s,TS-24's with all the support equipment that went along with it.We had no payment books on anything, everything was brought and paid for.The company was started by my grandfather around 85 years ago.so we had a good run at it.Myself and my 2 brothers decided one day that there was something with this picture. We were losing work to other companys that were doing it for less than cost. Our father used to say he quit doing work for charity after his first job.Mike

McAninch has had two auctions at the Des Moines shop that I know of getting downsized. They've moved their offices to the same building as their shop. (Their shop would be the envy of many dealers)

They're still out there moving dirt...just not as big as before.

Know the feeling of below cost! I guess my pencil doesn't get as sharp as others. Don't really want the work just to make my resume look good.Once upon a time a guy thought that he had to keep that iron running no matter what. They're the ones having the sale. I did go to all of Mac"s sales, even the 1st one in Des Moines in the early 80's. I can see a scale down with no work out there.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
