Using stainless steel for pins and bushings isn't a great idea as stainless against stainless will gall and seize up with surprising ease.
I have to agree with the OG on this one. We work with the stainless stuff all the time and we describe it as a metal that hates itself. If you ever get a chance to use it we will quite often put steel nuts on stainless bolts. Also lower grades of stainless are not that tough.
easy way to make brass bushings is find something close from these charts and if you have a lathe turn them to exact size. This company only sells in bulk. Get the number and order them from your local bearing house.

I was looking at the C95400 Aluminum Bronze and wandering if it would make a good bushing for the pivot ends for my 2S dozer blade on my D2. What do you guys think?
Kevin
I ordered cored bronze bushings for my D2 front idlers from McMaster Carr. They offer them in a big variety of sizes. I took those to a local machine shop to have them finish machined. I also bought the 1 3/4" axle material from them. Of course, they have anything else under the sun in hardware items, and I do mean anything. They offer next day delivery is standard in my area. They are at (609) 259-8900. Hope this helps.
